Attempting to step away from the ”postcard” image is a very big step. Sometimes you succeed and sometimes, well, you get the postcard. What we do attempt is to reflect emotion and feeling for the subject. It is of little use attempting to capture who the subject is because unless you live with them all your life, (and even then how can you be sure?) you will never really know who they are. But we insist on authenticity and attempt to reveal humanity and a complexity in the core of our work that breeds a curiosity from the viewer.
